Meet the Property Law Service team.

Ken Daniels / Principal

Ken Daniels was born in Auckland and graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Laws degree which emphasised his interest in criminology, criminal law and family law.

After a short time with the Public Trust Office in Auckland Ken moved to Masterton in 1974 and was admitted to partnership in 1976. In 1987 Ken took up sole practice as a barrister and solicitor and in that year also set up the Property Law Service with its own individual staff.

While Ken continues practice mainly in the area of family and criminal law he also is the principal of the Property Law Service which specialises in property transactions.

Ken has been a member of the Wellington District Law Society Council and has wide community interests both in the Wairarapa and in Wellington where he now lives with his family.

Peter Totman / Consultant

Peter Totman was born in England and obtained his Law Degree at Cambridge University. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1970 and practiced as a lawyer in England until 1981 when he and his family emigrated to New Zealand. He has since been practicing as a solicitor in the Wairarapa and for the last ten years as Managing Solicitor of Property Law Service.

Peter Totman specialises in property law including the sale and purchase of commercial, residential and rural property, leasing, finance, wills, estates.

Peter's interests outside the office are predominantly musical. He is regularly engaged by a number of Wairarapa musical theatres as a pianist / musical director. He is also musical director and organist at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Carterton.

Kerry Queenin / Senior Associate

Kerry Queenin comes to Property Law Service with a wealth of experience in all areas of Property Law. After graduating with a Bachelor of Social Sciences and Bachelor of Law from Waikato University, Kerry's work has focused on property, trusts, commercial, wills and estates. Most recently she has been a Solicitor and Trust Manager with a prominent law firm in the Wellington CBD.

Included in her diverse range of skills and experience is a successful career in Waikato real estate and later owning and running a long established rural law practice in the Waikato/Waipa district.

Kerry is well placed to assist clients with all aspects of property problem solving, the setting up and management of trusts, and asset protection. Modern technology enables Kerry to work with her clients throughout New Zealand and overseas.

Kerry is delighted to be back in a rural community where she and her partner are planning to settle on a small block and enjoy "the  good life" where people in their gumboots or posh shoes all speak the same language.

In her free time Kerry's interests include armchair rugby, reading, music, fine food and wine.

Tim Blake / Consultant

Tim was born in Wellington and went to school in the Hutt Valley and the Wairarapa. He graduated from Victoria University, Wellington in 1990 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor later that year, returning to university to undertake post-graduate study in law during 1991.

Since 1992 Tim has gained wide-ranging litigation experience with various law firms in Wellington, Lower Hutt and Hamilton and has also spent approximately 10 years as a sole practitioner. He has been a law lecturer and a professional legal studies instructor.

Tim has recently recommenced sole practice, with a new office in Porirua, and has joined Ken Daniels as a Consultant on a part-time basis.  His work with Ken Daniels will mainly involve employment and family law.

In his spare time Tim is a keen sportsman and is actively involved in playing and coaching soccer.

Susan McWilliam /  Legal Executive

Susan McWilliam is a Registered Legal Executive and has been employed by Property Law Service since 1999. She qualified as a Legal Executive in 1995 and was admitted to the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives as an Associate in 1999 and as a Fellow in 2006. Susan has over sixteen years experience acting for clients around the world on their various property transactions within New Zealand.

Susan McWilliam specialises in property law including the sale and purchase of commercial, residential and rural property, leasing, finance.

Susan's interests outside the office include arts and crafts, theatre, gardening, tennis.

Barbara Nef / Business Consultant

Barbara has a broad range of experience in business management, government relations, communications and marketing.

Barbara has a Bachelor of Commerce in Management and Commercial Law from Victoria University in Wellington and in a previous life was both a Registered Nurse and Wellington City Councillor. As a business consultant, Barbara provides strategic advice to Property Law Service on opportunities to grow and develop the services it offers to its clients.

Barbara is mother to five children and two grandchildren. The few moments she has spare in her day are spent trying to practice French over a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

Justine Robertson / PA to Ken Daniels 

Justine has had many years of experience in property, family and criminal law.  Justine has a farming background, plays hockey and is a keen breeder of Labrador dogs.

Catherine Drysdale / PA to Susan McWilliam

Catherine is a frontline member of the team and is involved in the administration of conveyancing transactions.  Catherine lives on a farm just out of Masterton where she raises sheep and cattle in her spare time.

Bronwyn Brewster / PA to Peter Totman

Bronwyn has had many years of banking and legal experience and is involved in the administration of conveyancing transactions.  Outside the office Bronwyn is a keen supporter or her families' sporting interests.

Coral Griffis / Office Accountant

Coral is responsible for the keeping of the clients' trust accounts and keeping the office administration running smoothly.  Coral is a singer with the band 'Life of Riley' in her spare time.
